Good evening Gridiron members,
Like you, Gridiron Fitness is actively monitoring all the news sources to better understand how this virus is going to change our lives in the days ahead. We know you are all keen to get back to your healthy lifestyles, and we are grateful for the ongoing support you are showing for re-opening Gridiron. To help you understand why our doors remain locked, we’d like to offer an insight into one of our guiding principles.
Simply put, we want to do what’s right. This is the underlying principle in all the decisions we make, whether it involves the health of our members, the safety of our staff, or the well-being of our community. From the tiniest question of where to put our hand sanitizers, to larger questions of cleanliness and equipment safety, to the decision of staying open or temporarily closing – our commitment to do the right thing is strong. Clearly, revenue in a small business is important, but not at the cost of health, safety, or ethics.
The health experts and leaders in BC who are charged with providing guidelines to get us through this crisis have clearly said we must stay home and avoid contact with other people as much as possible. Re-opening Gridiron at this time would fly in the face of those guidelines. As much as we would like to be open for business, we do not feel comfortable with putting our desires above the safety of our community. It is not the right thing to do.
When conditions support a safe path to re-open Gridiron Fitness, we will take that step, notifying members via email and social media.
We look forward to seeing all our #GridironFamily. Until then, be safe and be assured we miss you too.
Tammy and Wayne
