Tyler Bondaroff leads an active lifestyle, perhaps coming by it naturally after watching her parents play volleyball when she was little. This initiated a spark and she began playing at 12-years-old for her elementary school volleyball team. Now, 17-year-old Tyler Bondaroff says her passion for the sport really began when she joined the Dawson Creek Club Volleyball Team.
She’s focused, dedicated and loves the sport of volleyball. Having been a part of the sport for seven years now, one might think it’s all consuming, but Bondaroff says that her entire family is also, “Very invested in rodeo.”
That would be because she participates in rodeo as well, but that’s a different article. Let’s just say, this is one active young lady!
Bondaroff and team members placed third in 2019 at the BC School Sports Girls AAA Volleyball Provincials, and throughout the seven years there’s been other excitement. But the one that has touched her the most is being recognized as Most Outstanding Libero.
“This award meant a lot to me because not only was it my last high school volleyball provincials, but it was also really exciting to be recognized from a third placed team. It also made me appreciate all the hard work I have put in to improve myself as an athlete.”
When asked about future plans for 2020, her mind goes to her team mates…
“As a team we plan on staying in tier 1 of ACVC for the club season.”
